WORD ORDER: BIJWOORDEN VAN ONBEPAALDE TIJD
 
De onderstaande bijwoorden hebben een aparte plaats in de zin:
Always, never, occasionally, often, seldom, sometimes, usually, already, ever, just (net, pas), still, almost, certainly, completely. Hardly, nearly, quite, certainly, definitely, obviously, probably, also, even, just (gewoon), only, really

 

 
NA HET 1e WERKWOORD als er meer werkwoorden in de zin staan
    1. He has certainly surprised me.
 
 
VOOR HET WERKWOORD als er maar één werkwoord in de zin staat
    1. He often watches thrillers.
    2. They seldom read books.

Theorie Present Simple en Present Continuous Tense





TEGENWOORDIGE TIJD
Het Engels kent twee belangrijke tegenwoordige tijdsvormen nl.

  1. Present SimpleTense (o.t.t.) è bij een gewoonte, vaststaand feit, regelmatig terugkerende gebeurtenis, bij een aantal werkwoorden (love,like, hate etc.)
  2. Present Continuous Tense (o.t.t.+ing) è bij iets dat nu, op het moment van spreken plaatsvindt en in de nabije toekomst.

PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE (TEGENWOORDIGE TIJD ZONDER ING)
VORM
  • hele werkwoord                                          I get up at six every morning.             
  • Let op!  he/she/it à +(e) s                            He always gets up early.
  • ? à DO/ DOES + hele werkwoord             Do you like tea? Does she like animals?                                                         
  • - à DON’T/ DOESN’T + hele werkwoord I don’t like tea. He doesn’t like cats.

 

SPELLING
Er komt es achter het hele werkwoord bij de 3e persoon enkelvoud (he, she, it) wanneer het werkwoord eindigt op een:

GEBRUIK
  • iets is NU aan de gang
  • iets gebeurt in de nabije toekomst
  • tijdstip en tijdsduur spelen een rol
  • kan irritatie uitdrukken
 
SIGNAALWOORDEN
  • now, right now, at the moment, at present
  • this evening, tomorrow (tijdsbep.)
  • always, constantly, all the time (bij irritatie)
  • "look" en "listen" aan het begin van de zin
 
VOORBEELDEN
  • I am writing an email.
  • Look, they're kissing!
